What We Believe
Click any belief to read the teaching and its ESV scripture references.
The Trinity
John 1:1-2; John 4:24; John 10:30
We believe in one living God who is all-powerful, wise, good, and pure. He is loving, forgiving, and faithful. God created all things and exists eternally as Father, Son, and Holy Spirit.
Jesus Christ, The Son
Matthew 28:5-9; Luke 24:5-7; Romans 8:34
We believe Jesus Christ is God’s only Son, born of the Virgin Mary, fully God and fully man. He lived a sinless life, was crucified for the sins of the world, rose victorious from the dead, and intercedes for believers at the Father's right hand.
The Holy Spirit
Romans 8:9; Galatians 4:6; John 14:26
We believe the Holy Spirit lives within believers, empowering us to live a holy life, convicting of sin, and guiding us into all truth.
The Bible
Psalm 19:7; John 17:17; 2 Timothy 3:16-17
We believe the Bible is inspired by God, completely trustworthy in all it affirms, and contains all necessary truth to lead anyone into saving faith in Jesus Christ.
Humanity & Need of Grace
Genesis 1:27; Romans 3:23; Romans 5:12
We believe human beings were created in the image of God. Through disobedience, humanity became estranged from God and unable to save ourselves, yet remaining deeply loved by our Creator.
Sacraments: Baptism & Communion
Matthew 26:26-28; 1 Corinthians 10:16; Matthew 28:19
We celebrate the two sacraments commanded by Jesus: Baptism (an outward symbol of inward transformation and cleansing) and The Lord’s Supper (received in remembrance of Christ’s sacrifice).
Salvation by Grace through Faith
John 1:29; Romans 5:1-2; Ephesians 2:8-9
We believe salvation is a gift of God's grace through faith in Jesus Christ. When we turn to God in repentance, He forgives our sins and welcomes us into His family as new creations.
Christian Living & Good Works
Matthew 5:16; James 2:18,22; Titus 3:8
While good works do not earn salvation, they are the natural and joyful fruit of genuine faith, demonstrating God's love to our neighbors and community.
Spiritual Gifts
1 Corinthians 12:4-7; Ephesians 4:11-13
We believe the Holy Spirit gives spiritual gifts to believers to build up the Church and glorify God in unity and love.
Sanctification & Pure Lives
1 Thessalonians 5:23-24; 1 Corinthians 6:11; James 4:8
We believe God calls every believer to a life of holiness, continually being renewed in heart, mind, and action through the Holy Spirit's transforming presence.
